The Friends of the Meads are excited to announce the launch of their first leaflet, designed to serve as a comprehensive guide for both locals and tourists.
This initiative aims to enhance the community’s connection to The Meads, a cherished public open land and wetland grazing meadow located within walking distance of Bridgwater town centre, between St Matthew’s Field and Hamp Brook Way.
Cllr Jacqui Solomon, Chair of the Friends of the Meads and Mayor of Bridgwater, expressed her enthusiasm:
“This leaflet provides detailed information on the location, walking routes, and examples of wildlife you may encounter. It is a collaborative effort between the Friends of the Meads and Seed of Hope CIC aimed at fostering appreciation for this vital part of Bridgwater’s identity.”
The leaflet includes:
- Location details: Easy-to-follow directions to The Meads.
- Walking routes: Suggested paths for exploring the area.
- Wildlife information: Insights into the diverse species that inhabit the meadow.
In addition to the leaflet, the Friends of the Meads organise monthly activities on The Meads, encouraging community engagement and environmental stewardship.
