Notice is hereby given that Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as inserted by Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994, as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary traffic restrictions as detailed in the Schedule below.
The Order will be made to facilitate the Bridgwater Fair and is in the interest of public safety.

The Order shall come into operation from 0800 hours on the 23rd day of September 2024 until 1000 hours on the 29th day of September 2024. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.

Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles and any vehicles associated with the event and by businesses or delivery vehicles requiring access and for any residents requiring access and egress.

Reference: RS005978N – Bristol Road, Bridgwater     

Please be aware that we have received notification of a temporary road closure at Bristol Road, Bridgwater Without and Bridgwater for approximately 1122 metres.

The dates for these phased works will commence on 27th August to 18th September 2024.

The full closure will commence on 27th August 2024 and is expected to last until 18th September 2024 (18.30 – 23.30hrs – evening closures only. No weekend working.  The network work will be clear at all other times).  These phased works are for essential Highways Maintenance works as part of the Structural Maintenance Project, covering Drainage, Footways, Earthworks and Resurfacing activities, their works reference is LG019RS005978-02-01.

Somerset Council A39 Quantock Road, Bridgwater in the Parishes of Bridgwater, Wembdon and Durleigh

(Temporary 20mph Speed Limit) Order 2023

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary 20mph speed limit as detailed in the Schedule below.

This Order will come into operation on the 29th day of August 2023 and will remain in force for eighteen months.

The Works are expected to commence on the 10th day of September 2023 until the 31st day of October 2024 to enable Martin Grant Homes Limited a safe working area to carry out works to construct two new access junctions for the Cokerhurst Farm Development. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.
