Bridgwater Town Council operates within a specific set of policy documents and regulations designed to ensure transparency and the best interests of our residents.
While these may seem rather complicated and detailed, they are designed to protect everyone’s rights and to give you the confidence that the Council is properly managed.
Policies & Procedures
This policy sets out the principles that will be adopted by the Council in order for material to be safely stored on removable media so that the risk of loss or corruption to work data is low.
This policy is intended to help councillors and Council staff make appropriate decisions about the use of social media.
The Council is expected to review its financial risks regularly and to act prudently and within legislation.
The Financial Regulations form the basis of the way in which the Town Council uses the monies raised from Council Tax payers and other sources. They are regularly reviewed to ensure that they keep in line with the Finance and Accounting Regulations to which the Town Council has to adhere. The current regulations can be viewed by clicking on the below link.
Standing Orders form the basis under which the Town Council operates. They lay down, amongst other things, how the business of the Council will be conducted, how Councillors are expected to behave and the responsibilities of both Councillors and employees.
