A bus shelter on Durleigh Road has been repaired after being damaged by vandals.
The shelter required repairs after its glass panels were broken. The damage was reported and repairs have now been completed to ensure the shelter remains safe and available for residents and passengers.
The vandalism has resulted in unnecessary costs and disruption to public amenities that are provided for the benefit of the whole community.
Cllr Tim Mander, Chair of Bridgwater Town Councils Amenities Committee said,
“We are disappointed that this bus shelter has been the target of vandalism. While repairs have now been carried out, every incident results in additional costs that could otherwise be invested in improving local services and facilities.
“Bus shelters are provided for the benefit of everyone who relies on public transport, and acts of vandalism ultimately impact all users. We would ask everyone to help us look after community assets and report any incidents of vandalism when they occur.”
Residents are encouraged to report any information relating to vandalism or anti-social behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
