As the colder months draw near, Bridgwater Town Council is once again extending the opening hours of its much-loved Warm Space initiative, providing a welcoming haven for residents throughout the winter season.
Starting Tuesday, 14 October 2025, and continuing until the end of March 2026, the Warm Space will be open every Tuesday from 9.30am to 1.00pm at Bridgwater Town Hall. Opening times will be reviewed at the end of the season to ensure the service continues to meet community needs.
Visitors are invited to come along and enjoy a free hot or cold drink with a biscuit, make use of free Wi-Fi, mobile phone charging and a communal laptop. There will also be the opportunity to take part in crafting sessions that have proved a great success in previous years.
Alongside these activities, the Warm Space will continue to offer guidance and signposting to local charities and organisations that provide support on a range of issues, including budgeting and debt advice, education and employment opportunities, food and fuel poverty, and mental and physical wellbeing.
Running alongside this, Spark iT will host a friendly Digital Café from 10.00am to 12:00midday. Whether you’re a complete beginner or just need a bit of help with a tricky tech problem, everyone is welcome to attend.
Warm Spaces like this play a vital role in promoting wellbeing offering not only warmth, but also friendship, understanding, and practical support to those who need it most.
Councillor Brian Smedley, Leader of Bridgwater Town Council said,
“We’re delighted to bring back the Warm Space for another year. The Warm Space has become a valued part of our community over the past few years. It offers a friendly, inclusive environment where people can meet others, find information, or simply enjoy a relaxed space. We’re pleased to continue providing this service and look forward to another successful winter.
“This initiative demonstrates how small, practical measures can make a positive difference to local people.”
