Blake Museum is the local museum for archaeology and history of Bridgwater.  Its collections span Bridgwater and the surrounding areas, offering fascinating displays for visitors to explore. Recently, the Museum’s Curator has been busy reorganising the museum’s exhibits to enhance the visitor experience.
Notable items that have been repositioned include the Fossil Ichthyosaur, one of the first acquisitions by the museum bought in 1925 for £2/2/6.
Additionally, the 1884 Royal Coat of Arms, originally displayed in the council chambers and historical pub signs from Bridgwater High Street have also been moved.
As well as exploring the rich history and exhibits of Blake Museum, visitors can also enjoy the museum shop, and refreshments are available.
Blake Museum is currently open to the public on Saturdays between 11.00am and 3.00pm.
Blake Museum is free to enter, although donations are most welcome to help support the museum’s ongoing activities and preservation efforts.
From 2 April 2025 they will open from Wednesdays until Saturdays between 10.00am and 4.00pm
