Families in Bridgwater are in for a treat this February half-term, with a wide range of free activities and workshops designed to inspire creativity, celebrate local culture, and bring the community together.
Running from Monday, 17 February to Saturday, 22 February 2025, the events will be held across multiple venues in the town, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
This fantastic programme of events is brought to you by the Bridgwater Cultural Partnership and Bridgwater Town Council, dedicated to enriching the town through arts, culture, and community collaboration.
Key Highlights of the Week

- Glo-Play at The Engine Room (17–19 February, 10am–4pm)
Families can explore fun, neon-themed activities, including creating glow-in-the-dark designs, an illuminated underwater mural, and live projections. Learn about the impact of plastics in our oceans while engaging in exciting artistic creations.
- Fun and Games at Bridgwater Library (17–21 February)
From a treasure hunt to a wacky photo booth and board games, the library has something for everyone throughout the week. Don’t miss Mr. Bert’s Amazing Circus Show on Thursday, 20 February, with two sessions at 11am and 12pm. Pre-book your spot via [email protected].
- Circus Workshops at Bridgwater Town Hall (20 February)
Experience the magic of circus arts with free workshops featuring juggling, aerial acrobatics, and more. Sessions run from 10:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Families can also make their own circus equipment at the Charter Hall while enjoying a warm space with refreshments.
- Brick and Tile Museum ‘Play Day’ (20 February, 10am–4pm)
Drop in to create your own Monopoly piece out of air-dried clay, replacing the traditional boot with a unicorn, giraffe, or your own imaginative design. Brick-based games and creative activities make this a perfect day out.
- Eco Sculpture Workshops at Angel Place (18–22 February, 11am–2pm)
Get hands-on with recycled materials to create imaginative sculptures inspired by Fiona Campbell’s exhibition, The Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand. No booking required—just drop in.
- Playful Printing at Bridgy Gallery (19–22 February, 11am, 2pm, 4pm)
Small group workshops where families can experiment with colour and shapes to produce their own prints. Ideal for ages 8+, with under-8s welcome for colouring activities.
- Somerset Youth Theatre ‘Play-in-a-Day’ (18 February, 10am–5pm)
Young performers (ages 8–14) can join a one-day workshop to create and share a show by the end of the day. Lunch and snacks are included, and no prior experience is necessary.
The week’s activities are designed to be accessible and inclusive for all, offering fun, free opportunities to brighten up the February half-term.
