Families, young people and comic lovers of all ages are invited to unleash their imagination this May half-term at Comic Chaos, a free creative drop-in activity hosted by Somerset Film at The Engine Room in Bridgwater.
Running from Wednesday 27 May to Friday 29 May 2026, Comic Chaos will transform blank pages into bold stories through playful comic-making activities with storytelling prompts, create your own superhero mask, and then transform into your super-alter ego for a photography activity. No drawing experience is needed — just ideas, doodles and a sense of humour.
The free sessions will take place daily from 10am – 3.30pm at The Engine Room.
Comic Chaos is designed as an activity for all ages, where participants can experiment creatively, invent characters and explore storytelling in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
As part of the activity, Somerset Film is also proud to support the National Year of Reading 2026 with a special comic book reading corner, encouraging visitors to discover the joy of reading through graphic storytelling and illustrated narratives.
Comic Chaos forms part of Somerset Film’s ongoing programme of free half-term creative activities for local communities, supported by Bridgwater Town Council and Arts Council England.
