Play with Clay: Birds

Did you know that all birds are evolved from dinosaurs? And while all birds have feathers, lay eggs and have two wings, not all birds can fly. Can you think of any birds that can’t fly?

Join us for bird-themed activities as we celebrate our feathery friends. You can make a clay bird decoration and complete the bird trail around the museum.

Make a Clay Bird Decoration

Tap into your creativity and make a hanging bird decoration out of clay for your house or garden.

Decorate your clay bird using different textures including lace to impress patterns onto your clay. You can also use slip to draw raised lines. Feel free to bring along your own materials to pattern your clay bird.

Come Along

Clay items will be fired and ready for collection approximately 4 weeks after you make them.
