Residents are being invited to nominate an inspiring young person to help switch on Bridgwater’s Christmas lights alongside the Mayor of Bridgwater during this year’s Snowflakes celebration on Saturday 28 November.
Snowflakes, Bridgwater’s annual festive event, brings the town centre to life with entertainment, market stalls, fairground rides and family activities, attracting families, friends and visitors from across the area to celebrate the start of the festive season.
As part of the event, one deserving young person will have the honour of joining the Mayor on stage to illuminate Bridgwater’s Christmas lights, marking the official start of Christmas in Bridgwater.
Bridgwater Town Council and Bridgwater Town Team are seeking nominations for young people whose kindness, positivity and determination have made a difference to others. This could be a child or young person who has overcome personal challenges, raised money for charity, volunteered their time, supported friends or family, or simply gone above and beyond to help their community.
The initiative aims to shine a spotlight on the young people who make life brighter for others through their kindness, determination and positive actions. It is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome challenges, supported others, demonstrated resilience or made a meaningful difference to the lives of people around them.
Residents, schools, youth groups, sports clubs and community organisations are encouraged to put forward nominations explaining why their chosen young person deserves this special honour.
Nominations can be submitted online at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/dU5WsLGXVW
The deadline for nominations is Friday 6 November.
Bridgwater Town Council and Bridgwater Town Team look forward to celebrating the outstanding young people who help make Bridgwater shine throughout the year.
