Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy an afternoon of live music as Tea & Trumpets returns to Blake Gardens, Bridgwater, on Saturday 25 July from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
The popular event will launch this year’s programme of free summer events in Blake Gardens.
Throughout the day, visitors will be treated to performances from two well-known local brass bands, Burtle Silver Band and Burnham & Highbridge Band. Each band will perform two sets, filling the gardens with a varied programme of traditional brass band favourites and popular tunes. Whether you are a long-time fan of brass music or simply looking for an enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon, the event promises something for everyone.
Guests are encouraged to bring along a picnic blanket or camping chair, settle in among the gardens and enjoy the entertainment at their own pace. The event provides an ideal opportunity to relax with family and friends, take in the surroundings of the historic park and enjoy live music in the open air.
Refreshments will be available from the Friends of Blake Museum, including hot drinks, ice creams and homemade cakes.
Younger visitors can also take part in a butterfly hunt thanks to the Blake Gardens Community Group. Activity sheets will be available from Blake Museum.
Tea & Trumpets offers a free opportunity for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy live entertainment and as the first event in the seasonal programme, it provides a chance to celebrate the start of summer activities in Blake Gardens and showcase the valuable role the gardens play as a community space.
