Bridgwater’s much-loved sustainability event, Seed the Day, is back on Saturday 13 September from 10.00am to 3.00pm, bringing food, fun and fresh ideas for greener living to the town centre.
At the heart of the event will be the popular vegan market, where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of stalls offering everything from delicious street food and gourmet deli treats to ethical clothing, cruelty-free cosmetics and sustainable lifestyle products. Alongside the market, local and national environmental charities and organisations will be sharing their missions and offering practical ways for people to live more sustainably.
A highlight of the day will be the Vegan Baking Competition, organised by Bridgwater Town Council. Bakers are invited to showcase their best plant-based creations, which should be brought along before 2pm on the day of the event.
Councillor Kathy Pearce said,
“As part of Bridgwater Town Council’s Climate Emergency Strategy, this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase innovative alternatives that quite literally don’t cost the earth. We hope the community will come along, try something new and discover how small changes can make a big difference.”
