Bridgwater Town Council wishes to inform residents of a series of scheduled tree maintenance works to take place throughout April, across various locations in the town.
The scheduled tree works are essential for several reasons. Many of the trees identified for maintenance or removal are exhibiting signs of decay, structural instability, or damage.
Dead or dying trees need to be removed to maintain the overall health of the local ecosystem. Removing these trees helps prevent the spread of disease and allows for the planting of new, healthy trees in the future.
Trees that overhang footpaths, streetlights, and neighbouring properties require maintenance to ensure they do not obstruct or damage infrastructure.
Given the seasonal sensitivities, particularly concerning nesting birds and roosting bats, each site will be subject to a bird and bat activity survey prior to the commencement of works.
Tree work will take place at the following locations:
Walnut Drive |
Victoria Park |
Hampton Close |
Linley Close |
Arlington Close |
Bagborough Drive |
Bristol Road Cemetery |
Beside Hamp Cottage – Taunton Road |
All works are weather dependent. The contractor will close footpaths/areas, erect barriers and put up appropriate signage as necessary to make public aware.
Bridgwater Town Council is committed to maintaining the health and safety of our community and environment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these essential maintenance works.
