The Mayor of Bridgwater, Councillor Kathy Pearce, and her Mayoress, Sue visited the Broadway Brick Project on Wednesday 30 July.
Hosted by Fraisia Bruist-Papazian and Dan Petley of Brick Project CIC, the visit highlighted the collaborative effort between local artists, residents, and organisations to transform the once-plain façade at the junction of St John Street and Broadway.
With the support of the Bridgwater Town Deal, the project is turning a public wall into a colourful mosaic of hand-painted bricks — each one telling a unique story.
From fun and light-hearted messages to deeply moving tributes, the project is a powerful reflection of the Bridgwater’s community spirit, creativity, and pride.
Cllr Kathy Pearce and her Mayoress joined in by painting a brick, leaving their own mark on this growing artwork.
“This creative community initiative has truly captured the imagination of Bridgwater locals,” said Cllr Pearce. “It’s wonderful to see such a joyful, inclusive project bringing people together in such a meaningful way.”
On completion, the wall will be permanently varnished to preserve the artwork and ensure its legacy endures for years to come.
