Families and residents are invited to round off the summer holidays with a free afternoon of fun at the Big Community Picnic, taking place at Mansfield Park, Hamp, TA6 6DN, on Saturday 29 August from 11.00am to 2.30pm.
The event will offer a packed programme of activities for all ages, including a silent disco, circus tent, digital activities, football sessions, an inflatable assault course and bouncy castle. Local children will be able to enjoy free lunch boxes (while stocks last), while visitors can also make the most of face painting, a food van and an ice cream van.
A range of local organisations will be attending with information stalls, providing residents with the opportunity to find out more about services, support and activities available in the area.
Members of the Pride in Place Bridgwater South Board will be at the event, giving local people the opportunity to find out more about the initiative and share their views on the issues and priorities that matter most to them. Feedback gathered during the event will help inform future priorities and activities across Bridgwater South.
The Big Community Picnic is being delivered with the support of a range of local organisations and partners and also highlights the important role that Bridgwater Town Council’s parks and open spaces play in bringing people together and hosting activities for local communities. As one of the town’s valued green spaces, Mansfield Park provides an ideal setting for families and residents to enjoy a free day of entertainment before the summer holidays come to an end.
The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome. Residents are encouraged to come along, enjoy the activities on offer, meet local organisations and make the most of a great day out before the start of the new school term.
