Children and young people are invited to enjoy free lunches and activities throughout August at Summer Lunch Clubs hosted at Recreation Community Hub and Parkway Hub.
The sessions are open to all children and young people and will provide a simple, nutritious meal in a friendly and welcoming environment during the school holidays.
Lunch Clubs at Recreation Community Hub will take place from 11.30am to 1.30pm on Tuesday 11 August, Tuesday 18 August and Tuesday 25 August.
Sessions at Parkway Hub (Rollercoaster) will run from 12 noon to 2pm on Thursday 13 August, Thursday 20 August and Thursday 27 August.
The Parkway sessions will run alongside the popular Jump Start activities delivered by SASP and FUSE in Coronation Park, giving young people even more opportunities to stay active, build confidence, make new friends and enjoy a fun-filled summer.
Funding support from Abri and LiveWest is helping to support the delivery of the Lunch Clubs, ensuring children and young people can enjoy free meals and a welcoming community space throughout August.
Councillor Liz Leavy, Chair of the Communities and Cultural Committee said,
“The Summer Lunch Clubs are a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to come together during the school holidays, enjoy a free meal and spend time with friends in a safe and welcoming environment. We are delighted to be able to support families throughout the summer and look forward to seeing lots of young people attend.”
The initiative aims to bring young people together, support families during the school holidays and ensure children have access to a healthy meal while enjoying social and recreational activities.
No booking is required and families are encouraged to simply come along and join in.
