The countdown to the 2026 Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival will begin with a spectacular Grand Firework Display on Friday 6 November.
Sponsored by Bridgwater Town Council, the traditional carnival curtain-raiser will take place at St Matthew’s Field (TA6 7HD), bringing together residents and visitors for an evening of family entertainment ahead of Saturday’s world-famous carnival procession.
Festivities at St Matthew’s Field will begin from 3.30pm, with a selection of fairground rides and attractions available throughout the afternoon and evening.
The eagerly anticipated fireworks display will get underway at 7.30pm, lighting up the night sky in what has become one of the most popular events in the carnival calendar.
Adding to the celebrations, local schoolchildren take part in a special lantern parade. The parade will leave Westfield Church at 7.10pm before making its way to St Matthew’s Field, creating a colourful and memorable lead-up to the fireworks display.
