Whether you are a seasoned metal detectorist, or you’ve made a chance find, Blake Museum may be able to help you identify your discoveries for free.
Join the Museum volunteers on Saturday 9 August between 10.00am and 2.00pm, where Somerset’s Finds Liaison Officer(FLO) Laura Beckwith will be identifying and recording finds, part of the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Finds Liaison Officers are interested in recording ALL archaeological finds older than 300 years. More recent finds are at recorded at FLO’s discretion.
The Portable Antiquities Scheme is funded by the British Museum (in England) and Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, recording finds from all over the country for the database.
