As part of Avon and Somerset Police’s joint initiative with HeartSafe and NHS England South-West to place Emergency Bleed Kits in local communities, we are pleased to announce the installation of a bleed kit at ReCreation in South Bridgwater (Hamp). This is part of our ongoing commitment to safety and community well-being.
These kits are designed to provide immediate assistance in the event of a severe bleeding emergency, potentially saving countless lives.
In critical situations, every second counts. Bleed kits offer the tools needed to control bleeding until professional medical help arrives.
Bleed kits are incredibly versatile, providing bandages, gauze, tourniquets and dressings to control bleeding and can be used in a variety of emergency situations including traffic accidents, workplace and sport injuries.
The comprehensive nature of these kits ensures that they are equipped to handle different types of bleeding emergencies, making them an invaluable addition to any public space. The kit does not require any specific or advance training as they are designed in such a way that anyone can utilise it with the instructions included in the kit.
Our initiative to install a bleed kit at ReCreation is part of a broader effort to enhance community safety and preparedness. We believe that by equipping our public spaces with these life-saving tools, we can make a significant impact on the well-being of our community.
This installation is just the beginning, and we plan to expand this initiative to other locations in the near future.
