Bridgwater Town Council is delighted to announce that Bridgwater Playday 2026 will take place on Wednesday 5 August 2026 celebrating the national campaign that champions the right of every child to play.
As part of the UK’s annual National Playday initiative, this free community event shines a spotlight on the crucial role play has in children’s wellbeing, development and happiness.
From 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, families across the area are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day of inclusive activities designed to spark creativity, encourage physical activity and bring the community together.
This year’s event will once again take place on St Matthew’s Field, Bridgwater, transforming the green space into a vibrant hub of play opportunities for children of all ages.
Organisers are now welcoming expressions of interest from individuals who would like to volunteer on the day, as well as from groups and organisations interested in running engaging children’s activities.
Providers who may wish to bring refreshment or catering vans to the event are also encouraged to get in touch.
