Each year, Bridgwater Town Council allocates funding to support organisations, clubs, societies and community groups that help build a sustainable and thriving community for local residents.
These groups often address unmet needs and contribute greatly to the cultural, social and environmental wellbeing of the town.
Bridgwater Town Council’s Community Grants Scheme was established to recognise and support this vital work, enabling organisations to continue delivering valued services. The application window for the 2026–27 funding year is now open.
Grant and sponsorship applications are reviewed twice a year at the Grants Sub‑Committee meeting. Applicants are required to attend the meeting to present their application or answer questions about their proposal.
Project Grants have an annual budget of £16,000, allocated as £8,000 per round. The application windows for Youth‑Led Grants, Venue Grants and Sponsorship will close once their annual budgets have been fully allocated.
Application Deadlines:

Cllr Liz Leavy, Chair of Grants Sub-Committee said,
“The Bridgwater Town Council grants scheme demonstrates our ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives that make a genuine difference in our community. These grants provide essential support to organisations that enrich the lives of residents across our town. We strongly encourage groups to apply and make the most of the opportunities available.”
