Bridgwater Town Council is Electrifying!
Bridgwater Town Council has taken delivery of its first electric van. As part of the Council’s ambition to reduce its carbon footprint the environmentally friendly vehicle is used to carry out general maintenance tasks daily in a more energy-efficient way.
Councillor Kathy Pearce said: “At Bridgwater Town Council we take our responsibilities to address the causes of the climate emergency and pollution seriously. Transport is the biggest source of greenhouse emissions, so I am therefore delighted, as Portfolio Holder for Climate Emergency, that we have taken possession of our first electric vehicle to enable us to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions whilst we carry out our work around the town.”
