Bridgwater Town Council has recently completed improvement works on a section of path at St Matthews Field, enhancing accessibility and usability for the local community.
The improved section of path is located adjacent to the allotments, providing a vital connection to the Meads Eco Park and the neighbouring Haygrove Park housing estate, further improving access between these community spaces.
The upgraded path provides a safer and more enjoyable route for walkers, runners and visitors to the popular green space. The area is also regularly used by the St Matthew’s Field Parkrun, making the improvements a welcome addition for participants and volunteers.
Cllr Tim Mander, Chair of Bridgwater Town Council Amenities Committee said,
“We’re delighted to see these improvements completed at St Matthews Field.
“This work is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing Bridgwater’s open spaces for everyone to enjoy. The upgraded path will benefit local residents, visitors, and the growing Parkrun community who use this area every week.”
Bridgwater Town Council continues to invest in projects that promote health, wellbeing and accessibility across the town.
