Bridgwater Town Council has confirmed that Sally Jones, the Council’s current Director of Finance and Responsible Finance Officer (RFO), has been appointed as Interim Town Clerk and Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment was approved at an Extraordinary Full Council Meeting held on Tuesday 31 March.
Sally Jones has served as Director of Finance and RFO since joining the organisation in April 2024. Her appointment ensures continuity and stability for the Council and the community.
The Leader of Bridgwater Town Council, Cllr Brian Smedley said,
“Bridgwater Town Council has full confidence in Sally Jones to lead the organisation during this period. Her professional expertise, knowledge of Council operations and strong commitment to Bridgwater make her exceptionally well‑placed to take on this role. We are grateful for her readiness to provide steady leadership and support for staff and councillors.”
