The free Bridgwater Playday, held on Wednesday 30 July, has been hailed a great success by both the organising committee and Bridgwater Town Council.
It’s estimated around 3000 people attended the event including children, parents and guardians.
Bridgwater Playday 2025 was organised and run by a dedicated group of volunteers, whose support helps keep costs to a minimum. Their hard work is essential in making the event accessible to all.
Bridgwater Town Council supported Playday 2025 by providing financial assistance for the Climbing wall, First Aid services and additional toilet facilities, as well as supplying staff to help steward the event on the day.
This year’s event also received valuable support from HPC Community Fund and Co-op Funeral Care.
Rosie Pike, Chair of the Playday Committee, said,
“We raised £691.40 through donations on the day to help fund Playday 2026. On behalf of the committee, I’d like to thank all the families who contributed. I’d also like to express our gratitude to the fantastic activity providers and their teams.
“The variety of activities on offer means that every child can find something they enjoy. Seeing so many smiling faces makes all the months of planning worthwhile.
“I’d also like to thank Bridgwater Town Council as without them the event wouldn’t have happened.”
Cllr Tim Mander, Chair of the Amenities Committee at Bridgwater Town Council added,
“Playday is one of the highlights of the year for local families. It’s heartwarming to see the community come together to create such a fun and inclusive event for children of all ages. We’re proud to support it and grateful to the volunteers and organisers who make it happen.”
This year’s event featured more than 30 activities and attractions, including inflatables, archery, frisbee golf, segways, magicians, face painting, climbing wall, offering fun for children of all ages.
Looking ahead to Playday 2026, the committee is actively seeking additional grants and sponsorships to ensure the event remains free and accessible to everyone. If you or your business would like to support or sponsor Playday 2026, please get in touch with Bridgwater Town Council.
