Bridgwater
Town Council would like to let residents and visitors know about temporary road closures and parking restrictions that will be in place to help the Bridgwater Fair run smoothly and safely during the last week of September.
From 9.00am on Tuesday 23 September until 10.00am on Sunday 28 September 2025, several roads will be closed to traffic. West Street will be closed between A39 Broadway and Durleigh Road, while Durleigh Road will be closed from its junction with West Street to Northfields. Milton Place, St Matthews Green, Westover Green, and St Matthews Field will also be closed in full.
Parking restrictions will begin earlier, starting at 6.00pm on Monday 22 September and lasting until 10.00am on Sunday 28 September. During this time, no waiting will be allowed on Durleigh Road from Woodbury Road to Northfield, as well as along the entire lengths of Northfield, Park Road, Albert Street, Haygrove Park Road, Westfield Close, and Halswell Close.
To help with traffic and event logistics, the usual weight limit on Northfield will also be suspended for the duration of the fair.
A residents’ parking permit scheme will again be in operation. Residents affected by the scheme will receive a letter with further details in the coming days.
The council thanks everyone for their patience and understanding while these temporary measures are in place. They are important for keeping people safe and ensuring the fair can be enjoyed by all.
