Somerset Council came into being earlier this year on April 1 2023. The new unitary council brings together the services previously provided by the four district councils in Somerset (Mendip, Sedgemoor, Somerset West and Taunton, and South Somerset) alongside the services provided by Somerset County Council.
Since these changes the contact details for our local Council services in Bridgwater has changed and this has left some local residents confused as to which council to contact for advice.
Here is a guide we hope will help.
You can contact Somerset Council on 0300 123 2224, visit the Somerset Council website to report issues such as missed waste collections, highway issues and lots of other things and you can still call into Bridgwater House at King Square to speak to someone.
For information and advice on the things we at the Town Council can assist with, including cemeteries, allotments etc. you can call us on 01278 427692 or contact us via our website.
