The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
Every year, people come together to unleash a wave of support for action to protect the planet. Tens of thousands of people in every corner of the country celebrate the heartfelt, brave, everyday actions being taken to stand up for nature and fight climate change. Great Big Green Week sees everything from litter picks to letter writing, festivals to football matches, seaweed foraging to school assemblies.
This year the Great Big Green Week will take place between 10th and 18th June and Bridgwater is getting involved.
On Thursday 15th June 2023 between 2.30pm – 4.30pm The Somerset Wildlife Trust invites you to join them for Mindfulness and Nature – A Stroll on the Meads. Take a walk on the wild side with Mark Ward, the Wilder Coast Project Manager with Somerset Wildlife Trust will be leading a walk around the beautiful Meads Eco Park in Bridgwater, connecting with nature and nurturing well-being in peaceful settings.
The meeting point is outside the Purplespoon Cafe, Bridgwater YMCA TA6 3RF but booking is essential.

On Friday 16th June 2023 between 10am – 3pm Bridgwater Town Council, the Centre for Sustainable Energy and the Eco Centre will be joining forces with a stall at the weekly Friday Market on Fore Street.
There will be lots of information about reducing fuel bills and addressing fuel poverty, the Somerset Safe and Warm Scheme which offers advice and support to all residents on anything energy related along with information about Town Council Services.
