Enjoy visiting Bridgwater’s cultural venues across February half term for exciting free family activities. Thanks to funds from the Town Council, Bridgwater’s Cultural Partners have put together a package of free fun things to do with the family.
Visit the Engine Room to make your own camera obscura and turn the world upside down. Experience the inside of their box camera, learn about the workings of light and how cameras have developed. The Engine Room Tuesday-Thursday 11am-3pm.
The library has an Alice in Wonderland Day on Tuesday with story time, crafts and a themed photo booth as well as throughout the week a treasure hunt and colouring competition! Bridgwater Library Tuesday 11.30am-12pm: Alice in Wonderland Character Storytime, 2pm-2.45pm or 3pm-3.45pm Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Craft. Crafts at the library need to be booked in advance by emailing the library, [email protected] or messaging via Facebook, @BridgwaterLibraryUK.
The Brick and Tile Museum has a trail of upside-down images to follow and then you can make a hedgehog out of air-dry clay to take away. The hedgehog starts as a pinch pot which you then turn upside down adding a heart to the face in honour of Valentine’s Day. Brick and Tile Museum Wednesday 10am-4pm.
At the Town Hall on Thursday take part, create and make by drawing, painting, collage, mask making – all topsy turvy style and inspired by artists who have created or displayed works upside down with Fuse’s creative team. Town Hall Thursday 11am-3pm.
In the Bridgy Gallery Bridgwater and Taunton College students present a fun exhibition in the theme of The World Upside Down. Bridgy Gallery Wednesday-Saturday 11am-5pm.
Or why not try the Wonky Walking Bus from Blake Statue to Bridgy Gallery! Wednesday-Saturday from 10:30am, every hour at 30 minutes past the hour, last bus 3:30pm – returning on the hour.
